The topic is about Food Pantries and Summer Food Programs.  Two organizations in Hamilton have been leaders in the area for these kinds of services:  Serve City and Hamilton Living Water Ministry, Inc.

Serve City was founded in 2000 and has built a reputation in Hamilton and Butler County for serving the needy in its community.  Located in Hamilton, Serve City has established itself as a Hope Center, by assisting and empowering Hamilton families to rise above the circumstances that marginalize them.   Through their food pantry, The Lord’s Cupboard, they serve over 3,000 needy each month and are reaching more continually.  Serve City also serves the homeless with CHOSEN, providing a 48 bed shelter with meals provided for the occupants.  Linda Kimble, the Executive Director of Serve City, will be speaking on the importance of Food Pantries in our communities.

Hamilton Living Water Ministry, Inc. was founded in 1999 with the goal to bring people into active service in today’s world and into our community and to step into the community and provide a means to restore dignity and self-worth.  Hamilton Living Water offers many great programs for children and people of all ages.  It is also named a Safe Haven by the Ohio Department of Justice Weed and Seed Program and the Hamilton City Police Department.  Cathy Hester, the Executive Director, will be speaking on the importance of Summer Food programs.
